Our Policies

Rescheduling / Cancellations

  • Cancellation or rescheduling of a lesson must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time.

  • Cancellations or reschedules may be made by canceling via our scheduling software, emailing, or texting/calling our studio at 604-612-1440.

  • Any reschedule, cancellation or no show with less than 48 hrs notice will be charged as if the lesson were conducted.

  • Lesson time will not be made up for students who show up late. The teacher reserves the right to cancel a lesson if the student shows up more than 10 minutes late.

  • Group lessons and workshops are final sale, non-refundable, and non-adjustable.

  • In the case of extreme weather such as a snow storm warning, flood warning, or other environmental factor, we allow reschedules to be made within 2 hours of the lesson time.

  • While we understand schedules are difficult to maintain, we appreciate if you can dedicate a specific day and time each week. We try to limit reschedules to 6 per year per student to remain fair to the rest of our students.

Sick Policy

  • If students suspect they will be absent due to illness or other emergency circumstances, 48-hour advance notice must be provided. Mechanics of Music charges the normal rate for notices of less than 48 hours. Students may choose to switch their lesson to online in order to keep the lesson and avoid forfeiting their payment.

  • We do not allow students whom we suspect may be sick to enter our studio in order to protect our students and teachers. We have many children and senior students with compromised immune systems, so we appreciate your understanding in us taking this matter seriously.
