NEW WEST FARMER'S MARKET - APRIL & SEPTEMBER 2026

INFO BOOTH AND STUDENT PERFORMANCE

The New West Farmer's Market is a great chance to get out into the community and share our music!

  • We’ll be performing at the market (time to be confirmed)

  • We'll also need assistance with the information booth from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. 

  • For those that are able, we could also use help loading gear (meet at the studio at 1:00 pm).

Here are the ways to get involved:

  1. General Volunteer

    • Help load gear at the studio at 1:00 p.m.

    • Arrive at the event by 2:00 p.m.

    • Help as needed at the event

    • Stick around to help pack up from 7:00–8:00 p.m.

  2. Mechanics of Music Booth

    1. Arrive at the event by 2:30 p.m.

    2. Help at the Mechanics of Music Info booth

    3. Share your love of Mechanics of Music with potential clients

       

  3. Rock Band Performer

    1. Be set up and ready to rock by 2:30 p.m.

    2. Join the Rock Star Crew for the performance set(s).

The market will be set up on 4th Street just on the edge of Tipperary Park. There is parking on Queens Avenue and the streets around the park.

SCHEDULE

  • Float Decoration Party! - Friday, May 22nd

    • 6:00 pm - Meet at Studio - Decorate float, BBQ

  • ​Float Set Up and Parade Prep - Saturday, May 23rd

    • ​8:00 am - Meet at studio

    • 9:00 am - Final float prep

    • 11:00 am - Parade Start

    • 1:00 pm - Parade Ends, back to studio to pack up

HYACK PARADE - MAY 2026

PARADE FLOAT WITH STUDENT PERFORMANCE

Volunteering and performing at the Hyack Festival is an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re helping behind the scenes or jumping on stage, you get to be part of something vibrant and full of energy.

  • Help us decorate the float the evening before the parade (Friday, May 22 at 6:00 pm)

  • Lend a hand with final float setup on parade day morning (meet at the studio at 8:00 am)

  • Perform with our group during the parade and bring energy to the streets (meet at the start of the parade route at 10:30 am)

  • Stick around after to help with float teardown and packing up

Here are the ways to get involved:

1. Friday, May 22 – Float Decorating Party!

  • Arrive at studio by 6:00 PM

  • Secure any lights, streamers, or balloons

  • Arrange props, instruments, or decor items

  • Do a safety check for loose items

  • Help load any supplies or gear needed for the next day

2. Saturday, May 23 – Morning Setup

  • Meet at the studio at 8:00 AM

  • Help transport float and supplies to parade staging area

  • Final decoration and setup: secure anything that was removed for transport

  • Sound check

  • Hydrate and prep for parade!

3. Parade Performance

  • Meet at the start of the parade route by 10:30 AM

  • Warm up instruments or voices

  • Perform and keep energy high along the route

  • Smile, wave, and interact with the crowd

4. Teardown & Pack-up (Post-parade)

  • Shuttle back to studio

  • Remove decorations and gear from float

  • Help disassemble any structures

  • Pack up props, instruments, signage

  • Load items back to the studio

  • Quick clean-up of the area

SOUND PLAYGROUND AND STUDENT PERFORMANCE

We’re excited to announce the Mechanics of Music Street Sessions happening at Uptown Plaza in New West. 

  • We’ll be set up at the plaza from 12:00 to 3:00 pm

  • We'll also need assistance with the information booth from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

  • For those that are able, we could also use help loading gear (meet at the studio at 8:00 am).

    • Help at one of our tents (ukulele, piano, guitar, percussion).

    • Show people a few basics and encourage them to try the instruments.

    • Ensure instruments are handled with care

  • We’ll be performing at the market from 12:00 to 12:15 pm and again from 2:00 to 2:15 pm.

  • We'll also need assistance with the information booth from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

  • For those that are able, we could also use help loading gear (meet at the studio at 8:00 am).
